Well, like my brother Twist, my novel has also been turned down for publication by my latest submission. They'll be sorry when it goes on the New York Times Bestseller List. (Gotta think positively)
I already have 11 chapters of the sequel written, and as many more chapters of the third book outlined and ready to write. Maybe if I have all three written, someone will look at them. I'll keep plugging away.

I was just reading about Beatrix Potter and how it said she got rejected so many times that she finally decided to print the books herself, and then they sold out in 2 weeks, so don't give up, you're just at the beginning, I doubt any book was ever accepted the first time it was sent to publication.
oh and i read in another writer's q&a that it really helps to join a writer's group because they can give you suggestions that future editors would probably give, ALOT of authors are in writer's groups.
If you listen to my friend, Jerry, you've got to stalk the editors, learn all about them then approach them in a unique way through the back door. I sort of subscribe to that over the writers' groups, but it depends on how big the group is and what they do. Here they only criticized your work. Other places have conferences and bring in publishers. Good luck to you and me both.
Mary Higgins Clark and Richard Paul Evans were rejected a lot of times, too, and so was Erich Segal with Love Story.
